Cool moment during tonight's Bellevue City Council meeting as Mayor Hike and the Bellevue City Council proclaimed today, November 16, 2021 as Brandon Schutt day in the City of Bellevue.
In an act of Sportsmanship that has received National attention and made the entire Bellevue Community proud, Brandon was running in his last cross country race as a senior at Bellevue East High School in mid October when he noticed a runner from Omaha Burke collapse near the finish line and struggle to get up. Without hesitation Brandon stopped his race and helped Blake Cerveny, from Burke High School get back on his feet and they ran the rest of the short distance to the finish line hand in hand which allowed both of them to finish while teaching all of us a life lesson.
Mayor Hike and the Bellevue City Council wanted to recognize Brandon's dedication and efforts.
Congratulations to Brandon and his proud parents, Joseph and Melissa Schutt!! The entire Bellevue community is proud of you.
