David Goedeken was promoted to the position of Public Works Director in May of 2023 with the goal of providing first-class and timely services to Bellevue residents.
Mr. Goedeken is very familiar with the City of Bellevue and offers an extensive background in engineering and public works in both the Public and Private sectors. Before taking the helm as the Public Works Director, David worked for the City of Bellevue as the Manager of Engineering Services and previously had worked for the City of Bellevue for over 19 years as an Engineer, from 1988 -2007. He came back to the City of Bellevue after working for the Cities of Grand Island and Columbus as the City Engineer and Fremont, Nebraska as both the City Engineer and Public Works Director. In addition, David worked as a Project Manager for both Engineering Design Consultants and REGA Engineering in 2007 -2009 before continuing his career in Municipal Government. In addition to his vast amount of professional experience, Mr. Goedeken holds a Bachelor of Science Degree from the University of Nebraska-Omaha.
Mr. Goedeken’s extensive background within both the public and private sectors will help him work with the 150 employees of Bellevue’s Public Works Department to continue growing and improving the City of Bellevue for future generations.
