The Bellevue Street Department is headed by Bobby Riggs who reports to the Public Works Director. The offices of the Street Department are located at 206 Industrial Drive. The department shares offices with the Parks Department.
The Department has responsibility for maintaining almost 600 lane miles, including the associated traffic signals and street signs.
To accomplish this, the Department has 29 full time employees. Its annual operating budget is over $4 million, with over $3 million coming from state fuel taxes.
During the winter, each of the Department's snow plows must handle over 20 miles of roadway. During heavy snows, the Department augments its staff with Wastewater, Building Maintenance and other Public Works employees.
