Bellevue Public Works Department Issues Statement Regarding Diving Boards at Bellevue Public Pools

City of Bellevue Public Works Director Jeff Roberts has issued the following statement with regards to the removal of the diving boards from the Bellevue Public Swimming Pools:

“During the surveying of the swimming pools for future modifications it was discovered that the dive envelope for the diving boards does not meet current standards. As a result of this self discovery, and under advisement from the city's attorneys, it was deemed necessary to remove the diving boards.”  

Mr. Roberts and the Public Works Department are preparing a special presentation on the future improvements of the pools which will be presented to the City Council Members at the June 13, 2016 Council meeting at Bellevue City Hall.

All four of the City of Bellevue's Public Pools will open for the 2016 season on Tuesday, May 31st. Here is a list of Bellevue's Pools!

·         Cascio Pool, 1500 Lawrence Lane (Open Late Wednesdays)

·         Dowding Pool, 14th and Washington Streets (Open Late Thursdays)

·         Gilbert Pool, 29th Avenue and Jackson Street (Open Late Fridays)

·         Sun Valley Pool, 52nd Street and Aspen Drive (Open late Mondays)

 

Pools will remain open through the second week of August. Regular pool hours are Monday - Saturday from Noon - 6:45 p.m. and on Sundays: Noon - 5:45 p.m.

 

The Daily Swim Fee is $2.00 for 18 & under and $3.00 for Adults. Pool passes may be purchased at the Recreation Department at the Reed Center, which is located at 1200 Lord Blvd. in Bellevue.
