Bellevue City Councilman Don Preister was presented with the "Friend of the Environment Lifetime Achievement Award" at the Earth Day Omaha event at Elmwood Park on Saturday afternoon. Councilman Preister was nominated and selected for this award by the Earth Day Omaha Coalition in recognition of his dedication for making the earth a better place to live. The Earth Day Omaha Coalition is an organiztion that is dedicated to increasing public awareness of environmental issues in our area.
In addtion to serving on the Bellevue City Council, Mr. Preister is one of the founders and current president of the Green Bellevue organization which focuses on enhancing green initiatives throughout Bellevue and the local area.
