Bellevue Public Works Department Announces a Traffic Switch on 36th Street and Other Construction Updates

The Bellevue Public Works Department has announced that traffic on 36th Street will be switched to the permanent pavement beginning Wednesday, December 22, 2021, at 3pm.

Following this switch, intersections of Falcon Glen (north lanes) and Leawood Drive (west) will be closed.  During the closure, Falcon Glen and Falcon Forest residents will be detoured to Sheridan Road for access to 36th Street.

On Monday, January 3rd, construction crews will resume operations.  Grading and temporary surfacing will be placed to restore Leawood Drive access to Falcon Forest.  After temporary access is established at Leawood Drive, operations will proceed to the north half of the entrance to Falcon Glen to reestablish access for residents.  Weather permitting, this work is anticipated to be completed by late January.

These closures and improvements are necessary to accommodate travel and project phasing through the winter months.  For more information about the project, please visit bellevue36thstreet.com, or follow the project on Facebook and Twitter, @bellevue36thstreet.
