Sun Valley Park has been Closed Until Further Notice in the Interest of Public Safety.

The Bellevue Public Works Department has announced that Sun Valley Park at 52nd & Aspen has been closed until further notice in the interest of public safety.

The trees in Sun Valley park are damaged to the point of representing a significant threat to safety for anyone using the park. Bellevue Parks Department staff will be removing damaged trees and contracting for the removal of trees that are too large for city staff to address. This process may take several weeks as all tree contractors are busy with clean-up efforts in the metro area.

The Parks Department will make an announcement once the Sun Valley is safe and open for public use. Additionally, the Parks Department is surveying all city of Bellevue Parks for any safety hazards that may exist following last week's storms and in the event a park is deemed unsafe, that park will also be closed until the safety issue is addressed.
