The Bellevue Public Works Department reports that the next phase of improvements to American Heroes Park is beginning construction this week. Improvements during this phase of construction will include extension of the paved park roadway to the north, a paved trail around the lake, and a parking lot with landscaping at the south end of the lake. Construction will begin on Friday, July 01, 2016 and continue for approximately 2 months.
During the period of construction, the Public Works Department requests the public’s cooperation in respecting all construction signs and barricades. The public is not allowed in the areas of construction. Access to the nature trail at the north end of the park may not be available during construction.
The public is reminded all vehicles are expected to remain on the road and parking areas which are surfaced with concrete, rock, or millings. Drivers of unauthorized vehicles found outside of these surfaced areas may be ticketed and fined by the police.
