Longtime Bellevue Resident Julie Collins Sworn in as Ward 4 City Councilwoman

Longtime Bellevue resident Julie Collins was approved by the Bellevue City Council and was sworn in this evening to take over as the City Councilperson for Bellevue’s Ward 4 by the Honorable Sarpy County Court Judge S. Colin Palm in front of dozens of family members, friends and supporters. Councilwoman Collins was submitted for consideration by Mayor Hike due to her background, communication skills and knowledge of the Bellevue Community.

Ms. Collins has been a member of the Bellevue Community for her entire life and is a 1988 graduate of Bellevue East High School. Her roots in Bellevue extend back to her great, great grandparents who actually lived in the old log cabin in Bellevue which is now in the historical registry and her Great Grandpa Gow was the judge in the old courthouse off of Mission Avenue.

Julie is married to retired Omah Police Sergeant Joe Collins and together they are the parents of 4 children including surviving children Kaitlyn, Joseph and Maggie who were all in attendance tonight. Professionally, she has enjoyed a 35-year career in the title and escrow industry, currently serving as the Vice President of Professional Title Company.

Councilwoman Collins is looking forward to serving the residents of a community that she loves so dearly. She pledges to work to continue the good work of those that have come before us and forge new opportunities to keep Bellevue a vibrant, safe, and desirable community for new business ventures and future generations of citizens to come.

Congratulations Councilwoman Collins!
