Daniell Trail is Officially Reopened for Public Use

The City of Bellevue’s Park Department has completed the cleanup of the Daniell Trail as well as the adjacent area and will reopen the trail to the public today. Thanks to the efforts of city crews with the assistance of crews and equipment from Sarpy County and the Papio-Missouri River NRD, the cleanup of this area has been completed approximately five weeks ahead of the original schedule. Citizens can now safely use the trail and take advantage of the unseasonable weather that we have been experiencing.

During the cleanup of this area it was necessary to remove a large number of trees due to the damage caused by the June storms. The City of Bellevue is committed to working with the Bellevue Tree Board and the Nebraska Forest Service to develop a plan for replanting trees in this area. The Parks Department would like to thank the residents of this area for their cooperation during this large cleanup effort.
