The City of Bellevue was saddened to hear of the passing of Bellevue Ward 2 City Councilman Bob Stinson on Thursday, May 26th.
Bob was first elected to the Bellevue City Council in November of 2018 and was running unopposed for re-election in the upcoming November General Elections.
Councilman Stinson was born in Denver, Co in 1959 but Bellevue was definitely his home as he and his family moved to Bellevue in 1960. Councilman Stinson attended Bellevue Public Schools and graduated from Bellevue High in 1977 and after graduation he worked for the Bellevue Parks Department for a few years before eventually following in his fathers footsteps and serving on the Bellevue Police Department from 1990-2016. Additionally, Mr. Stinson was a Bellevue Volunteer Firefighter for 19 years. During this time, he completed the Creighton University Paramedic program and used that knowledge to assist Bellevue residents in their time of need.
Bob was a true public servant and dedicated his life to public safety, his family and the Bellevue Community. His actions on the City Council and continued volunteer service reflected that dedication and commitment.
Bob has been married to his wife Linda for over 40 years, and they have two adult children. Bellevue Mayor Rusty Hike and the City of Bellevue offer our deepest condolences to Bob’s family, friends and colleagues during this time. Thank you for your service and friendship Bob…you will be missed!
