City of Bellevue Issues RFI for Open Data Portal Software Solution

The City of Bellevue has identified transparency as a strategic initiative and adopted an Open Data policy to be implemented in 2016. The City of Bellevue envisions an Open Data portal functioning as a community research resource and a tool designed to save staff time and increase organizational efficiency.

Some motivating reasons behind the adoption and implementation of an Open Data policy are:

·         Transparency and accountability

·         Research, innovation, and economic development

·         Reduced demand for government services

·         Problem solving and informed decision-making

Given the potential benefits, the City of Bellevue is interested in offering an Open Data service to enable community access to important information via an Open Data portal. Gathering vendor information by issuing a request for information (RFI) is the City of Bellevue's next step towards establishing a portal to support such a service.

The City of Bellevue is seeking information from vendors interested in providing an Open Data portal software solution. Any company interested in providing an Open Data portal software solution should complete the RFI release by the City of Bellevue. A copy of Bellevue’s RFI for an Open Data portal software solution can be found at the following hyperlink:

The deadline for RFI submissions is May 4th. Please forward all questions electronically to Phil Davidson, Community Relations Director at Phil.Davidson@Bellevue.net.
