City of Bellevue Evacuation Notice and Road Closure Information

3/15/2019 at 2:00PM

Due to localized flooding, Mayor Hike and the Bellevue Police Department are encouraging all residents of Paradise Lake and Green Acres to evacuate. We strongly recommend everyone leave the area as soon as possible. Conditions are changing rapidly and we cannot guarantee the safety of those who stay. If residents need assistance with evacuation, they should call 402-593-4111. If residents are in need of shelter, they may contact the American Red Cross at 402-343-7700 or respond to Lifegate Church, located at Cornhusker and 72nd Street in Papillion.

Members of the Bellevue Police Department and Bellevue Fire Department are in the process of walking door to door, informing residents of the need to leave. We are asking residents to help spread the word as well, especially to those who are handicapped or otherwise in need of assistance.

As of the time of this release, eastbound Highway 370 is closed at Warren Street. Westbound traffic from Iowa is still allowed but that is expected to close later today. Please follow Bellevue Police and City of Bellevue Facebook and Twitter accounts for information on immediate updates in road closures.

A press conference will be scheduled later today.

Media inquiries can be made by contacting Lieutenant Andy Jashinske, of the Bellevue Police Department’s Office of Professional Standards, 402-293-3106 or via email at andy.jashinske@bellevue.net.
