Busy Weekend in Bellevue!
A weekend in the middle of May is always busy! There are graduations parties to attend, baseball and soccer games to watch, yard work to tend to and nice (cool) weather to enjoy! This weekend the City of Bellevue reminds you of three local events on Saturday that you might want to fit into your schedule!
First, this Saturday is Spring Cleanup in Bellevue. This is a popular way for Bellevue Residents to dispose of some of the unwanted debris and clutter that has gathered over the winter. The drop off sites will be open from 7:00am to 3:00pm and you can click here for more information
Also on Saturday, please plan on heading to Washington Park for the spectacular kick-off to the 2016 Bellevue, Nebraska Farmers Market from 8 am until Noon. In addition to a number of vendors, there will be a petting zoo, bounce house, fun family activities, educational opportunities and more! There will also be live music featuring George Walker from 9 am to 11 am and the Bellevue Public Safety Foundation will be handing out free blue light bulbs in honor of Bellevue Police Officer's Month. Special thanks to Bellevue City Councilwoman Carol Blood for all of her efforts to help grow this weekly event! For more information and a list of vendors please check out the Bellevue Farmer's Market Facebook Page at https://www.facebook.com/bellevuenebraskafarmersmarket
If you are interested in learning how to become an author or want to learn how to get a book published, the Bellevue Public Library has a unique way for you to spend part of your Saturday. Join the Bellevue Public Library for its second annual AuthorFest on Saturday, May 14, from 11 a.m. to 3 p.m. Meet local authors for book signings, author readings and panel discussions. In addition, B&B Classic Hotdogs and Big Mike's BBQ will have food stands available. There will be panel discussions on "How to Start: Becoming a Writer" and "DIY: Self-Publishing."
