Memorial Day 2022 is upon us. As usual, VFW Post 10785 will conduct Bellevue’s Memorial Day ceremony on Monday, May 30, at 11:00 A.M. at the Bellevue Cemetery, 13th Ave & Franklin St. The ceremony will feature patriotic music by the Sarpy Serenaders, the presentation of the colors and each service flag, and the Veterans of Foreign Wars’ traditional remembrance of the fallen.
That ceremony includes the reading of the general order that established the first Memorial Day ceremony, laying red, white, and wreaths acknowledging the sacrifices our fallen warriors have made, a rifle volley, and the playing of Taps.
VFW members and volunteers will place flags on each veteran’s grave Thursday afternoon at 3:00. VFW Post 10785 will also set up the Avenue of Flags early Monday morning.
