Bellevue Storm Response Update - Monday, August, 5 at 10:00am

Our friends at OPPD and the mutual aid partners have been working tirelessly throughout the weekend to restore power to all of their customers. While they have made significant progress, there are still a few pockets of areas in Bellevue that power has not been restored to as of this morning. For more information on this process and OPPD restoration efforts please go to https://stormandoutage.com/

Due to these remaining power outages and the forecasted high temperatures for today, the City has helped coordinate two cooling/charging centers for today. Bellevue Junior Sports Association at 1001 High School Drive will be open from 10am to 6pm and the Bellevue Public Library at 1003 Lincoln Rd will be open from 9am to 8pm for residents that need to cool off and charge their devices.

The City of Bellevue will keep the Haworth Park Drop Off Site open throughout the week for residents to drop off their tree related debris from last weeks storm. This location will be open during daylight hours and please do not bring trash or other solid waste items to this location. The Cedar Island Rd drop off location has reached capacity and will be closed to the public this week.

The City's Public Works employees have been working 12 to 14 hour days throughout the weekend and utilizing all of the city's equipment to remove downed trees from roadways, manning the tree dump operations and assisting OPPD with anything they need for their power restoration efforts. They will continue these efforts this week,  as well as the getting to the parks and trails in our community that need cleaned. The Public Works Department is evaluating their available resources and will make an announcement regarding curbside pickup later this week.

Please stay tuned for more information as it becomes available.
