Bellevue City Council Receives Library Facility Needs Study

The Bellevue City Council received an update on the Library Facility Needs Assessment Study at Monday night's meeting. The study was completed and presented by George Lawson, who is a library consultant from Ames, Iowa. Mr. Lawson was a practicing librarian for 17 years and has been a building consultant for 24 years. He has worked on many library projects in Nebraska and altogether on over 450 projects in 14 states. Mr. Lawson worked with Bellevue Library Director Julie Dinville and her staff along with the Bellevue Library Board to complete this study.

The study was funded through $7,500 from the Bellevue Library Foundation, $3,000 in Community Betterment funds, and the remainder from the library's annual budget. A copy of the study can be found on the City's website at http://www.bellevue.net/Departments/Library/Documents-Forms
