The City of Bellevue is proud to be the home of Nebraska's Official Veterans Day parade. This parade is a long-standing tradition for the Bellevue/Offutt Community and is coordinated by the Bellevue Chamber of Commerce to honor our past and veterans who have dedicated their lives to the defense of our freedoms. After the singing of our National Anthem and a fly over, the Parade, will start down Mission Avenue on Saturday, November 9th starting at 10am.
According to the Bellevue Times, this year's Grand Marshal will be retired Major Verl Chase who joined the Airforce right after graduation before attending Officer training School and spending his last nine years of his Military career at SAC Headquarters. After his retirement from the Air Force, Major Chase and his wife owned and operated C & C Tailor Shop by the Offutt AFB back gate before health conditions led to its closing.
The parade will begin at Jackson Street and Mission Avenue and head east before heading north on Franklin Street towards Washington Park. There are over 70 entries currently signed up and this parade traditionally showcases a number of veterans and active-duty military groups and personnel as well as a strong showing from the Bellevue Public Schools and many businesses and community organizations.
Thanks to the Bellevue Chamber of Commerce for coordinating this great parade and a special thanks to the Bellevue Fire Department, the Bellevue Police Department, Offutt AFB, the City of Bellevue, and Bellevue Public Schools for all your help putting on this event which honors our Veterans!
Mission Avenue will be closed from 8AM to Noon on Saturday, November 9th for the Parade. Detour routes will be posted.
