Rich was elected to the Bellevue City Council in 2022 after serving seven years as a Bellevue City Planning Commissioner and as a Community Development Block Grant committee member for eight years. He is currently serves as the City Council President and is a member of the Budget Committee, Audit Committee, Hard Surface Parking Committee and Board of Health. Rich holds a Bachelor of Aviation Management degree and Associate degrees in Personnel Management and Aviation Technology.
Rich served in numerous flight and leadership positions throughout his 27-year Air Force career. Following his retirement from the Air Force in 2002, Rich taught school at Bellevue East High School for two years. In 2004 he assumed the position of Transportation Director for Bellevue Public Schools where he served until retirement in 2023. He has served as the President of the Nebraska School Transportation Association and Chairman of the Metropolitan Omaha Education Consortium Transportation Subcommittee. Rich served as the President of the Fontenelle Hills Homeowners Association for thirteen years and is a current member of the Offutt Advisory Committee.
Rich and his wife India have been married for 48 years and have two children and six grandchildren.
