Board of Adjustment
The Board of Adjustment consists of four citizen volunteers and one alternate member who are appointed to three-year terms by the Mayor and approved by the City Council, plus one member of the Planning Commission who also serves as a member of the Board of Adjustment. The purpose of the Board of Adjustment is to hear appeals and grant variances from the strict application of the City's zoning regulations, when the enforcement of such regulations would result in an undue hardship to the applicant. Meetings of the Board of Adjustment are generally held on the third Wednesday of each month, beginning at 7:00 p.m. in the City Council Chambers. Please contact the Planning Department at 293-3026 for agenda information and to confirm meeting dates and times.
Current Board of Adjustment Members:
Bellevue residents and persons living within the City's two mile zoning jurisdiction are eligible to be appointed to the Planning Commission and the Board of Adjustment. If you would like to be considered for appointment to one of these two positions when vacancies occur, please send a letter of interest to the Mayor's Office.
