City of Bellevue Names Doug Clark as New Public Works Director

City Administrator Jim Ristow has announced that the City of Bellevue has hired Doug Clark for the position of Public Works Director. Mr. Clark will replace Interim Public Works Director, Dean Dunn, who has served in that role since the retirement of Jeff Roberts last year.

Doug Clark comes to the City of Bellevue with an extensive background in senior leadership including serving as the President of Metropolitan Utilities District and a Vice President at Tensaka Inc. In addition to his vast amount of professional experience, Mr. Clark holds a Bachelor of Science Degree from the University of Nebraska-Lincoln.

Mr. Clark is excited to take this position to work with Mayor Hike and the Bellevue City Council to provide first in class services to Bellevue residents. To assist in this effort Mr. Clark will rely on his strong background in leadership within both the public and private sectors to build partnerships, coalitions, and business plans which advance the goals and objectives of the City of Bellevue. He will also work with the 150 employees of Bellevue’s Public Works Department to continue growing and improving the City of Bellevue for future generations.

Bellevue’s City Administrator Jim Ristow selected Mr. Clark after an extensive interview process late last year. Mr. Ristow said, “We are excited to have Doug as part of our Senior Leadership team and will rely on his management ability and knowledge during an unprecedented time of growth coming our way.  I welcome him to the Bellevue Community and we look forward to working with him.”

Mr. Clark started working for the City of Bellevue in early January and oversees a Public Works Department which is responsible for Streets, Parks, Recreation, Cemetery, Buildings & Grounds and Fleets of the City.
