City of Bellevue to Host Community Meeting Regarding the CDBG Five Year Plan

Public Meeting to be Held at 6:00pm on January 17, 2019 at Bellevue City Hall

Event date: 1/17/2019 6:00 PM - 7:00 PM Export event

The City of Bellevue is asking for help in identifying unmet housing and community development needs in our community. The City of Bellevue's Community Development Block Grant (CDBG) Program Administrator, Abby Highland, will be hosting a Community Meeting to discuss the 5-Year Consolidated Plan for the program.   This meeting will take place at 6:00pm on Thursday, January 17, 2019 in the Bellevue City Council Chambers at 1500 Wall Street. The purpose of this public hearing is to identify needs that citizens, neighborhood groups, community organizations, and public service providers feel are not currently being met. The hearing will review eligible projects and programs, solicit input on community priorities, and provide information on anticipated available funding.

The City also request your help by taking a community needs survey available by clicking: CBDG 2019 Community Needs Survey. A link to this survey can also be found on the Quick Links section of the City's Website at www.bellevue.net. The needs will then be included in goals in the five-year consolidated plan for Community Development Block Grant (CDBG) funds from the U.S. Department of Housing and Urban Development.

The City of Bellevue as a recipient of CDBG funding is required by the U.S. Department of Housing and Urban Development (HUD) to prepare and adopt a Consolidated Plan and Annual Action Plan which will be submitted to HUD before August 15, 2019. The City of Bellevue’s CDBG program uses a program year running from October 1 to September 30. At least 70% of CDBG funds must benefit low- and moderate income residents or neighborhoods.

If special accommodations for persons with disabilities or non-English speaking persons are needed, please contact the City Clerk at (402) 293-3007 no later than January 14, 2019. If you are unable to attend the hearing, please feel free to submit questions, make written comments, or contact Abby Highland, CDBG Program Administrator for the City of Bellevue, by mail at 1500 Wall Street, Bellevue, NE 68005; by telephone at (402) 293-3000; or by email at abby.highland@outlook.com.
