Why do I have to pay for a library card if I am not a resident?

Because the library is funded by property taxes, which is only paid by Bellevue residents, nonresidents are required to pay an annual fee for library cards.

The costs are:

  • $40.00 annually for a family membership, or
  • Alternately, $10.00 per student, (from birth to 12th grade)

There is a $1.00 fee to replace a lost card (both resident and nonresident)
